Pick production order components with basic warehousing – Business Central
This post describes how to setup the system to pick production order components using inventory picks in MS Business Central.
There are many flavours of warehouse setups in Business Central. This post describes the setup of basic warehousing for production components.
1. As the first step, the location should be setup as a basic warehouse location with ‘Require pick’ and ‘Bin mandatory’ enabled.
2. Select ‘To-Production bin code’ and ‘From-Production bin code’ on the location card. You can select ‘Open shop floor bin code’ if the flusing method is automated (Backward or forward flusing).
3. Now you can create a production order. Before making a production order, make sure that inventory is available for component items in ‘From-Production-Bin-Code’.
4. Refresh the production lines and click on ‘Create inventory put-away/pick/movement’ to create an inventory pick
5. Select ‘Create Invnt. Movement’. If you select ‘Create Invt. pick’, the system will create item ledger at the time of registering the pick.
