Setting up an extended evaluation environment – Business Central
When we setup a new company in Business Central, by default it creates a company with standard data. The standard company contents evaluation data only for essential subscription. Predefined packages come into play, If you want to test transactions related to production and advanced warehousing.
Follow below steps to import predefined extended configuration package,
1. Access configuration package list
2. Click on ‘Process’, then click on ‘Import Predefined Package’
3. Select standard and extended packages. The prefix of the packages names will be different based on the localization.
4. Once the packages are added to configuration package list, you have to import those packages to the system. First import standard package. Open ‘Standard’ package. Click on ‘Apply Package’.
Since this package contents a lot of tables, it will take some time to apply to the system.
5. Once the standard package is applied, apply the extended package. Open ‘Extended’ package. Click on ‘Apply Package’.
